Bio

Ari Temkin is a Uruguayan American artist of Jewish descent working across video, installation, and emerging technologies. His work examines encoded and cultural bias in AI-driven data systems and internet culture. Blending satire with technical experimentation, Temkin uses humor to expose the contradictions and absurdities built into the technologies that organize digital life. His art and critical writing trace how culture is encoded into algorithmic systems and, in turn, how those systems shape real-world behavior.

Temkin holds an MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA from Florida International University.

He writes on AI and the moving image, including for Millennium Film Journal and on Substack, The Ari Temkin Newsletter.
