The Index (15:12)
A one-channel installation that parodies machine vision tools and generative AI imaging models by constructing the most “accurate” AI selfie. Comprised of a screen embedded within an arrangement of books and objects, the piece critically engages with AI image-generation and classification systems. In constructing my “perfect” selfie, I introduce a dataset shaped not only by my physical features but also by visual references that feel more representative of me than any AI could determine. This act positions me as both subject and author—shaping my own representation while critiquing the mechanisms through which AI attempts to dictate cultural identity.
